Reserve the JAM Rec Center

When you rent the gymnasium space, you will also have access to approved sports equipment in accordance with your reservation paperwork.  Bleachers, tables, and chairs can also be utilized as part of your rental agreement.  Authorization to use the mezzanine and lobby are part of the agreement.

Although a complete list of rental policies and terms will be included in the rental agreement, basic rental terms can be found on the website. There is a strict rule of no food or beverages in the gymnasium with the exception of water for athletes.

Our pricing is based on a three-tier model. The tiers are as follows:

  • Tier One: Athletics - This tier is for any athletic organization that wishes to utilize the gymnasium for practice or games. This tier includes the loft as part of the reservation, however there is an extra charge if you need to utilize the kitchenette.  Organizations that make reservations on this tier are required to provide a certificate of insurance listing "Bethesda E. C. Church" as additionally insured, since the organization is hosting the use of the facility.

  • Tier Two: Member - This tier if for any individual who is considered part of the Bethesda E. C. Church family. The membership often involves a relationship of mutual care and accountability between the church and the individual looking to reserve the facility.

  • Tier Three: Non-Member - This tier is for any individual or organization that does not fit the first two tiers. Non-members renting the facility need to understand that alcohol is prohibited on the premises and any balloons (if used) must be flattened before disposal in the dumpster. If there are any outside businesses providing services as part of your reservation, a certificate of insurance is required listing "Bethesda E. C. Church" as additionally insured. Examples of outside providers can be DJs. catering, etc.  This is the most common tier since it is used for any parties or events and the reservation also includes the use of the kitchenette.

Regardless of the tier, the individual reserving the facilities agrees to be responsible for preparing for use and returning to pre-use condition all areas of the premises which they reserved, including entrances and exits. That individual is also solely responsible for implementing appropriate screening and supervision procedures to protect children, youth, and vulnerable adults attending the user's function.

CANCELLATION POLICY

To cancel, please contact the Facilities Manager in writing at facilities@bethesdaec.org. Include your name, phone number, email address, and date of cancellation.

 

If, for any reason, Bethesda EC Church must cancel your event, we will notify the renter as soon as possible and will work with the renter to reschedule or the renter will receive a full refund.

 

A 3% processing fee will be subtracted from all refunds. Refunds will be processed in the same method as the original payment with the exception of cash which will be refunded as a check.

 

Party Rentals

If renter cancels 30 days or more prior to the reserved date, a refund of 97% of the rental cost will be returned to renter. If renter cancels 8-29 days prior the reserved date, a refund of 47% of the rental cost will be returned to the renter. No refund will be given if renter cancels 7 days or less prior the reserved date. 

 

Athletic Use

Athletic Use payments are non-refundable. The renter may contact the Facilities Manager in writing at facilities@bethesdaec.org to reschedule.
